Article excerpt: It is strange how surprised many people
are when the view a painting which has been completed by an
artist who has no formal talent. The level of surprise is
usually linked to the perceived quality of the painting
itself, which many believe is not possible to achieve
without formal training. However, others believe the art of
painting is a natural talent, without which achieving fame
and fortune in this profession would not be possible.
Sometimes it can be enhanced through formal training but, as
will be seen from the following examples, this is not a
pre-requisite for producing works of art.
