It is a perfectly natural tendency for a parent to have
special feelings towards his or her own children. After all
these youngsters are their own biological offspring.
Therefore, one can argue that, in most normal situations of
choice, the parent will quite rightly favour their own
biological child. However, the environment of a blended
situation is uniquely different to the norm and, if such
favouritism is brought into a blended family environment it
can cause immense harm and disruption, especially if the new
partner has children of his or her own.
