The aim of this study is to examine how the adoption of an affordability strategy could help an RSL to address its current financial issues.

Although the terms social and affordability housing are often used simultaneously to descibe the government's objective of affordability in housing projects, there are fundamental differences between the two terms. Affordability not only is seem as a means of enabling poorer segments of the community to secure accommadation and realistic prices but also aimed at creating an environment of social inclusion in housing development.
