Despite the increase in Internet IT developments and
applications aimed at improving business performance and
profitability, there remain businesses within certain
industry sectors in the UK where the level of technology
uptake and usage for business and marketing purposes still
remains somewhat spasmodic. This is particularly seen to be
the case in relation to smaller independent businesses in
the retail hospitality sector. It is this issue that the
current essay seeks to examine, focusing particularly on the
Public House sector.
